Thank you to all!

Absolutely perfect golf weather greeted over 140 participants in the 2023 Kyrene Foundation Golf Classic held May 5th at Whirlwind Golf Course. Over $35,000 was raised to support the efforts of the Kyrene Foundation in its mission to provide resources and other support to the students, families, and educators of the Kyrene School District.

A couple of major highlights. Our popular Beat the Pro hole was a big hit. Our pro, Megan Fusak, had her first ever hole in one! She was so excited that she accomplished this while entertaining at our event. We also raised over $6,000 on the hole with our professional long ball hitter who carded a drive of over 400 yards!

The annual Golf Classic is one of our major fundraisers for the Foundation. Our success in raising funds for the Kyrene Foundation would not happen without the incredible contributions of its sponsors. CORE Construction, the title sponsor for the event, and Orcutt-Winslow, a contributing sponsor, provided a strong anchor to the day as our top sponsors.

We are already making plans for next year’s golf event, so save the date for next year’s 13th annual Golf Classic – Friday May 3rd, 2024, playing Devils Claw. We’d like to thank the golf committee for their work. Tim Nguyen and Rick Richardson chaired the event. Deb Hoover did an outstanding Job of getting and managing prizes for our raffle. Suzanne Rinker managed our registrations, sales, and sign in process among other things. Jeff Peters and Shirley Coomer also provided support to the team. We also had numerous volunteers the day of the event who did a great job. Thank you to all!
